It's been a kaleidoscope of experiences the past two weeks. We canned spiced apples. The house smelled like cinnamon and I was stuck humming the old tune, "I love you a bushel and a peck. a bushel and a pack and a hug around the neck..."

One of the sweetest surprises was picking grapes from our neighbors vineyard, We canned 6 quarts of delicious white grape juice, but discovered it takes a LOT of grapes! Over the holidays we always buy Welch's white grape spritzer, but this year, we'll use Drinkmate soda maker to craft our own!
What's the update on the backyard garden? Despite the heat, we put up fifty pints of everything tomato.
We're still harvesting various teas while waiting on the potatoes. Here's an interesting view of the potato bed June 25th and the view today, I'm hoping to make Carol's herbed potatoes and southwestern style sweet potatoes!
Summer has been wonderful: bike rides, hikes and hummingbirds. I'm counting all the little blessings, looking for wonder in everyday. What joys have you discovered along the way?
